Considered by many the most elegant of all, it originated in England in 1830. A close-toed shoe suitable for narrow feet with a low instep and can be worn with formal suits as well as with more casual attire: tweed, corduroy or tartan jackets with flannel trousers, chinos or jeans. An Oxford shoe is an elegant leather shoe.
Oxford shoes are made using a traditional method using the best leather and are historically rather plain. The shoe design is usually plain but it can include some ornament or small perforations such as the double stitching along the toe.

Shoes are made entirely from bovine leather, with a leather sole and heel. The sole is hand sewn.

The Oxford is available in two different versions: semi-brogue and full-brogue.
